Clare Melinsky
The simplified forms and decorative quality of my lino cut prints make a strong impact. They have been put to use as magazine illustration, packaging, and book covers including the Harry Potter edition published in 2010. As an illustrator I have been asked, over the years, to portray everything from kings to compost heaps. After careful research and sharp observation I make a preliminary sketch. I cut the image into the surface of a piece of linoleum and make a print. Framed and unframed work is for sale.
