The simple acting of crossing yarns over and under each other to create fabrics by hand is fascinating and although restrictive it is also full of possibility, anything from an elegant silk scarf to the narrative potential of a woven tapestry. I use yarns made from natural fibres and dye them myself to weave both functional (scarves, rugs, cushions) and more conceptual pieces . The studio is full of looms, tactile yarns, samples and finished items.
