Maggie Ayres
My work is expressed in abstract form: textured, mixed media paintings, incorporating layers of watered down acrylics; constructed textiles using natural fibres with threads and inclusions; and sculptural forms of plaster and rubber.
Experimenting with texture, light, line and colour, I explore personal experiences and memory, including motherhood, formative social constraints, grief and solace to evoke emotional responses in the viewer.
