What is LI-LO

Looking In - Looking Out (LI-LO) is a project that Spring Fling have developed with the University of Glasgow, Dumfries Campus which aims to explore the where and why of artistic practice. LI-LO includes a series of Lectures in the University of Glasgow’s Solway Centre for Environment and Culture, focusing on the themes of 'Memory', 'Land' and 'Sustainability' in April and May 2012, and a series of Friday Q&As with artists working from and outwith the region of Dumfires & Galloway, providing a unique insight into how and where artists work.

The Q&A began on 20/01/2012.

The format for LI-LO is as follows:

  • Week One: Spring Fling 2012 Participant
  • Week Two: Spring Fling 2012 Participant
  • Week Three: Artist / Maker working from Dumfries and Galloway
  • Week Four: Invited External Artist / Maker (from anywhere in the world)

The Q&A will continue in this way indefinitely.
