D&G|OUT: The Lighthouse, Glasgow

D&G|OUT @ The Lighthouse featured pieces by 17 ceramicists, jewellers, textile designers, printmakers and others with a national and international profile - all from Dumfries and Galloway or with strong connections. It ran from 31 January - 22 February 2014 at the Review Gallery, The Lighthouse, Glasgow. 

The exhibition gave a flavour of the unique experience of studio visiting with a vision to inspire discussions around where and how designers and makers create their work and how they connect with the outside world.

A preview was held on 30th January with Pecha Kucha by designers Wendy KershawMorag Macpherson & Suzi Plunkett 

And there were opportunities to see and purchase additional work by these 3 artists.

The Spring Fling 2014 Brochure was also launched at the Opening.


An Afternoon with the Artists: 8 February 2014 1-4pm
We also organised a series of talks and workshop with Amanda Simmons, Colin Blanchard & Alison Macloed.

  • Corsock-based glass artist Amanda Simmons  discussed her residency in the Highlands and her involvement in SOFA Art and Design fair in Chicago in Autumn 2013.
  • Printmaker Colin Blanchard talked about his dedication to handmade original prints.
  • Jeweller Alison Macleod led a drop-in workshop for adults. 

And there was an opportunity to purchase additional work by the artists.
