SF x WBF Artist in Residence
**Please note that Spring Fling 2017 has now been and gone for another year - visit back for photos and a round up of this year's event!
Since 2009 this two-part residency has created a place for an artist to create new work through an intensive period working with Wigtown Book Festival. The work is then presented in an open studio setting in Wigtown for Spring Fling.
This year we welcomed Kate Timney who creates work about the relationship between humans and the natural world. Working across painting, drawing and printmaking, her recent work has drawn on ideas of wilderness and the sublime. Throughout Wigtown Book Festival 2016 Kate looked at people’s responses to books that have changed them – work which she subsequently developed for her exhibition at Spring Fling.
Kate was based in Wigtown for Spring Fling, in Studio 6.
