Memories of fire in a disused forge have inspired my latest artwork: a place suspended in time. I’ve been building up layers from a base of loose Gesso strokes, then layering paint and glazes to capture the light, colours and textures of this fascinating space.

What to expect: Sketchbooks and examples of the painting process will be on view. A mix of new and older artwork, a wall of smaller works, cards and original prints will be on sale. Outdoors, the top of the garden offers views toward the Mull of Galloway.

Directions: From Wigtown take the A714. Turn left at Bladnoch roundabout. At B7085, turn right. At Port William roundabout turn right and 101 is on the right. From Stranraer, take A75. At A747, turn right. At Port William, 101 is on left
before roundabout.

Accessibility: 2 steps at front door. No wheelchair access at front or rear door.

Recommendation: Just off the village square there is a short stroll around the Harbour Green, with the sculpture of the Port William ‘Man’ looking out to the Mull of Galloway.
