My work comprises of kiln-formed fused glass using variously translucent, opalescent, iridescent and dichroic glass and inclusions. Pieces produced cover a variety of shapes sizes and styles. They are always decorative; some are designed for everyday use whereas others are purely for artistic and sculptural effect.
What to expect: A working studio with completed work and work in progress, reference material, machinery and tools of the art, together with cutting glass, preparing for firing and post-firing operations explained. Maybe you can try glass cutting!
Directions: From A75 take Rhonehouse turning. Left in village centre & right after ¼ mile. Lochdougan House is 2ml further, a right turn. From Kirkcudbright/Gelston, B727 then follow Rhonehouse sign.
Accessibility: The studio is the upper floor of redeveloped farm buildings: well-lit steps with handrail.
Recommendation: Designs Gallery & Café, King Street, Castle Douglas – art and craft upstairs with nice café, conservatory and garden downstairs.
