My work is influenced by my surroundings on the edge of Galloway Forest, by birds, trees, mountains and weather; the colours, textures and shifting light. I use fabrics, from velvets to fine silks, hand-dyed and made into cushions, scarves and wall-hangings.
What to expect: In my working studio I will have pieces for
sale, work in progress, photos, design-work and explanations of materials and technical process. Visitors can also use my fabric to decorate their own cotton bag to take away for just £5.
Directions: On the A762, one mile north of Mossdale and 4 miles south of New Galloway, between, but opposite the end of the Raiders Road and the Bennan viewpoint.
Recommendation: New Galloway Community Shop, High Street, New Galloway, Castle Douglas, DG7 3RN. 01644 420 620 – a great place to buy food for a picnic.
