My art is informed by literary and ecological subjects, in my home area around Loch Ken as well as Finland and Iceland. My wider research project is ‘nature’ as something that ‘culture’ is inextricably part of, not separate from, and explored through paint and painting.
What to expect: Visitors will be made welcome at the studio where there will be paintings, drawings and supporting work on display. They can browse library and sketchbooks, and chat about art over a cup of coffee. Paints will be on hand for visitors to have a go.
Directions: Studio is white building, down grassy lane off west side of Crossmichael Main Steet A713, almost opposite shop. No car access, parking in St Michael’s Road, opposite, or Village Hall.
Accessibility: All on one level, accessible to buggies and wheelchairs. Toilet not
Recommendation: Bike around Loch Ken or walk/bike in the Galloway Forest Park. There’s a gentle walk up the hill past the village hall & there’s the Red Kite feeding station in nearby Laurieston.
