I trained at Glasgow School of Art and have been a teacher in Dumfries for over 25 years. In 2018 I was selected for the Scottish Portrait Awards, and I exhibit widely in Scotland and Cumbria. Most of my work is figurative.
What to expect: I will be exhibiting new work including portraiture, figurative paintings and still life, along with drawings. Visitors will be able to see work in progress and talk about my ideas, working methods and materials. I am happy to discuss portrait commissions too.
Directions: From Dumfries train station, turn right along Lovers Walk then right again into Edinburgh Road. Gracefield Arts Centre is signposted on your right.
Accessibility: Gallery 2, where I am located, is completely on the flat and has full wheelchair access. Gallery 1 has full wheelchair access to the ground floor but only stairs to the first floor.
Recommendation: The Stove cafe in the town centre offers good food and supports the arts locally. It also promotes the involvement of young people through Blueprint100.
