Marjorie Lotfi Gill Writer in Residence Spring Fling x Wigtown Book Festival 2015
From Auden’s “Musée des Beaux Arts” to Keats’ “Ode to a Grecian Urn”, so many poets have been inspired by works of art.
During Spring Fling 2015, the poet Marjorie Lotfi Gill took her inspiration from the work of exhibiting artists – and encouraged others to do the same. 54 people attended the workshops during Spring Fling weekend and in the run up to the event. 155 new pieces of writing about Spring Fling artists’ work (poems or flash fiction) were created and posted to the Spring Fling Writers Blog http://www.spring-fling.co.uk/blog/writers-blog/
During Wigtown Book Festival this year she presents some of the best work submitted and talks about the process of responding to the visual arts on the page.
