Spring Fling x
Wigtown Book Festival

Writer-in-Residence 2019

We are delighted that the Spring Fling x Wigtown Book Festival Residency is returning for 2019. Poet Ken Cockburn invites you to explore the links between birds, art and the landscape in which it is made. Join him for a conversation about where culture meets nature. Ken will be travelling the Spring Fling studios talking to makers and visitors alike, holding workshops and creating new work to be revealed for Wigtown Book Festival (27 September – 1 October 2019). Find out more about Ken Cockburn and this year’s residency here.

On Saturday I saw a curlew flying across the moorland.

Last week in the South Lakes I saw a heron wading.

Today in the art gallery we saw a pile of taxidermied kingfishers.
