As with most regions, we can’t escape roadworks!
Find some links below to help you navigate Spring Fling.
Important Travel Information – Kirkcudbright Bridge Closure the bridge across the River Dee (A755) is closed to vehicles. Pedestrian access remains open. This affects access to studios on our Purple Route. See full details below.
For visitors to Kirkcudbright (venues 20–37):
From the north or east: travel via the A75 and turn off at either the A711 or A762.
From the west: continue past Twynholm and turn right onto either the A762 or A711.
For visitors to Borgue, Gatehouse and Ringford (venues 15–19):
Venues 15 and 19 can be accessed as usual from the A75.
Venues 16, 17 and 18 will be signed from the A75:
-
From the east: turn left onto the A755 between Twynholm and Gatehouse.
-
From the west: turn right onto the A755 after Gatehouse.
Then just follow the event signage — the diversions are short and scenic, and you’ll be back on track quickly.
- Follow directions in the brochure (there are directions for each studio)
- Follow event signage! All studios will have numbers and green arrows pointing the way on nearby roads.
- Use the What3Words app and search using the unique three words on the studio entry to find a precise location
- Use the map on the event website to pin-point that studio
- Use your sat nav and the address for that studio (but don’t rely on this alone as postcodes don’t always take you to the right place!)
- Use a combination of all of these!
We will post information about any further road closures that may affect routes during the Spring Fling weekend.
