Anne Butler
Painting & Drawing • Green Route
My paintings are a response to places I have a connection to. I would describe my work as semi-abstract landscapes.

My Practice
I work in many layers scraping back and revealing colours underneath. I often work outdoors in in a free style with a strong emphasis on colour and texture.
At Christmas time I was invited to exhibit my work by three Scottish galleries. I had to produce thirty paintings of various sizes.
This video was made by Colin Tennant.
Tools & Materials
I work in many layers scraping back and revealing colours underneath. I often work outdoors in in a free style with a strong emphasis on colour and texture. I use acrylic paint and various scraping tools including old credit cards!
