My Practice

My creative practice involves foraging and working in the local landscapes. The creation of materials which are then used to create work is a completely different experience to what I had been used to before. It has deepened my connection to my work and also the wider living landscape.

Here is a short tour of Edward’s studio filmed by Edward.

Tools & Materials

When working in my Studio I convert gathered plant materials into Ink and Paints. For example boiling up acorn caps in an Iron pot to obtain a lovely ephemeral grey Ink. I will then experiment working on several pieces at a time letting the qualities of working from such sources guide me.

Spring Fling Activity

During the event I shall be here to explain some of the processes and thinking behind working in such a way. I shall also be doing some demonstations and letting visitors try out some of the materials as well. There will be various things for sale from orginal artwork, cards and prints through to bottles of homemade Ink and paper.
