Painting & Drawing • Purple Route
I paint landscapes, still life and animals from nature. My work is rich in colour and draws inspiration from the local area and life. It is figurative and traditional in character.

My Practice
I paint according to traditional methods using oil paint, pastels and charcoal. I try to work direct from nature as much as possible as that definitely produces the best results. I am always on the look out for subjects in the land, sky, trees and water. I am interested in striking contrasts and vivid colour as well as composition.
This is a taster view inside the studio and introduction to my work.

Tools & Materials
My studio is a stunning converted Victorian stables built in dressed granite and featuring original beams. The space has very good light and is a wonderful space for artists. I run a small art school and teach both locals and those from further afield.

Spring Fling Activity
There will be plenty of pictures to see and buy. I will have sketchbooks and art materials on display as well as live demos and canvases in progress.
There will be a show of student work in the studio as well as my own.
I will make some colour charts and boards to explain classic methods of drawing and painting and try to show how an artist approaches their work.
Spring Fling Friends Offer
I offer six art lessons for the price of five (£125)
