Sarah Rogers

I produce handmade, contemporary jewellery pieces in small collections and as one-off, bespoke pieces. My work is strongly influenced by nature, drawing much of my inspiration from Dumfries and Galloway’s beautiful scenery. I specialise in Plique à Jour enamelling and complex stone setting. I recently spent 3 months in America developing new, specialist setting skills at the Jewelry Institute of America.

About My Practice

My work is created in precious metal wires, small cast components, and flat sheet metal. I saw, file, shape, and solder it to form my designs. I enjoy playing with light refraction, texture, and colour through the inclusion of stone setting, and Plique à Jour enamelling in my pieces.

Tools & Materials

I work with precious metals, precious and semi-precious gemstones, and enamel. My tools vary drastically from simple things like sandpaper and files, to a microscope, and specialised pneumatic handpiece (used for setting and engraving).
