Marianne Le Gallo
Perhaps because of my dual heritage, I am predisposed to question boundaries and neat categorisations. My work sits somewhere on the art & craft spectrum and fluctuates between figuration and abstraction.

About My Practice
Most of my work springs from automatic doodles/drawings; it is also informed by organic and mineral forms I photograph on my walks. Light & form are central in my practice. I draw (with music in the background), photograph and sculpt. I sometimes create composites using photographs and drawings.
Tools & Materials
I use stationery (pens, biros, highlighters, all kinds of paper), photographs, sculpting materials (ceramic, bronze, glass) and casting processes.
