Kim Ayres
I’m a creative, professional, portrait and narrative photographer, creating powerful images for individuals and businesses. Sometimes theatrical, sometimes cinematic, sometimes just observational.
I use light, line and form to convey a sense of story – of something more going on than is immediately seen.

About My Practice
It starts with a conversation.
We build a connection, an understanding, and a trust.
We get to the heart of what it is you want and need, and collaborate on the vision.
My photography is all about connection and process.
Whether it is staged, dramatic, cinematic imagery, or intimate, personal photography, or promotional images for organisations and businesses – the process is the same.
Each shoot is bespoke, tailored, and crafted to produce images that are unique to you.
As such, not only do you end up with photographs you are delighted with, but the experience is one of empowerment and creativity – where your input is valued and integrated.
But it all begins with a conversation.
Tools & Materials
My tools are my cameras, lenses, speedlights, modifiers, reflectors, backdrops and the computer. Prior to Covid-19 the computer was primarily used for editing, admin and social media. These days, however, it also allows me to create and broadcast my video podcast – Undewrstanding Photography with Kim Ayres – every week, live streamed on YouTube.

Spring Fling Activity
I will be encouraging people to be photographed as part of a vibrant, bustling scene, but photos will be taken invidually and merged later in the editing process.
