morrison & Lemke
Together, we work in the everyday landscapes of our everyday lives through conspicuous processes of listening, walking, talking, drawing, writing, collecting, recording, and performative actions. For us, art is a verb; the process of doing and ‘arting’ together.

About My Practice
We are irresistibly drawn to landscapes and species and seek to uncover aesthetic and ecological values where they are neglected and where others may see ugliness, nuisance, or negative impacts. With an interdisciplinary approach, social and environmental challenges are examined within local contexts. Our art is both public and social whereby we openly share what we do as we do it. We love to work in public places where people can chance upon us and ask what we are doing. We love to talk with people and listen to their stories. We love to share knowledge and learn from the people we meet.
Tools & Materials
We love working outside, in the landscape and in urban environments where we perform and draw. This work is always site and place specific. We respond to the environment and who lives there, and have explored peatlands, mosquitos, foxgloves, wetlands, and forestry to name a few. The materials we use vary, depending on what we are exploring and where. When creating installations we re-use previously used materials (we have a stash of stuff accumulated over the years), natural materials, and found objects.
