Pamela Grace
As an artist and printmaker living in the Galloway countryside, my work is informed by my day to day surroundings. I like to work outside when I can and capture details of hedgerows, back gardens, garden birds and allotments as well as ancient trees I the landscape.

About My Practice
My practice is based on drawing and I make sketches which I use as the basis for larger paintings using pen and ink and watercolour and also work up into prints, some of which I hand-colour. I admire the work of Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and Winifred Nicholson among others.
I initially trained as a knitwear designer before developing my career as an artist and over the past two to three decades I have exhibited widely, north and south of the border.
Tools & Materials
I often make initial sketches outdoors. I work mainly at my home making larger pen and ink and water colour paintings using dip pens and brushes. I create etchings which I edition using the facilities of the Gracefield Print Studio and also my own small etching press. This involves an array of tools and plates and specialist inks and etching papers .
