Philippa Sinclair

I am a painter drawn to the transient light and changing colours of Galloway.

About My Practice

I have always used watercolour and recently I have introduced other media using chalks as topical accents .
My influences have ranged from early masters such as Turner and post impressionists such as Matisse whose bold and direct use of colour liberates.

Tools & Materials

My current studio is up a hill with a view for the Solway. It has light from North and South.
I use tubes of watercolour and large and very small brushes.importantly the paper is hand made and varies in texture surface
