I work in watercolour paint onto various sizes and weights of paper with large Japanese brushes and other tools. I aim to illuminate the core of each subject matter-using strong pigments and a fluid and expressive style. I paint local sea and landscapes.

My Practice
I paint usually in watercolour deriving its fluid and lively qualities by using large brushes with a point and small brushes for accent. I work on handmade paper textured and smooth. I paint using oils and I prefer to use palette knives as this is an expressive tool. As a colourist my palette is vibrant and chromatic although recently I have discovered the vagaries of Paynes grey.
Tools & Materials
My studio is a treasure trove of found artifacts such as glass shells china and of course the tools of the trade such as brushes,paper canvases sketchbooks as well as favourite artist books to inform and influence

Spring Fling Activity
I will display finished framed work and unfinished paintings as well as prints and cards and wrapping paper.I will demonstrate the process of producing a work of art ready for framing and I will explain how artista from the past influence the present.There will be a chance to have a go at simple printing too as well as trying my cakes
