Trinity Coombs

My name is Trinity and I am a recent graduate from Glasgow City College, with a BA(Hons) in Photography. My work is a blend of landscape, editorial, and documentary style photography, and I root my practice in storytelling, whether through the details of a landscape or the intimate moments shared with a subject. My art stems from a wish to connect and engage with people and their land. My work is an expression of curiosity; its a tool that allows me to explore land, learn about its people, and understand their sense of belonging to a place. Whether my approach is spontaneous or carefully planned, I always follow what resonates with me.

About My Practice

I enjoy creating narratives through large-scale projects, fully immersing myself in the process. When organising imagery, I pay attention to artistic elements such as lines, textures, colours and highlighting details which are often overlooked. I work with people, place, and emotional experiences, all of which become collaborators within the image rather than objects of documentation. Each photograph, whether individual or part of a wider collection of work, becomes a story. My overall intention is to capture emotion in my images, creating photographs that not only document but also invite the viewer to pause, reflect and engage thoughtfully.

Tools & Materials

I currently work digitally using a cannon DSLR camera, but I am keen to explore film as another medium for expression and experimentation. I like to work with natural light, and predominantly shoot and take a lot of inspiration from being outside.
