Alison Macleod
I create jewellery that celebrates personal meaning, bringing together careful craftsmanship, natural inspiration, and the quiet beauty of heirloom materials. My work draws on tiny collected treasures, textures from the forest floor, and the layered histories of jewellery, transforming them into pieces that are both intimate and enduring.
About My Practice
I handmake collections and commissions in traceable gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones, using traditional goldsmithing techniques. My work is inspired by forest floor finds, curious objects, and the history of heirloom jewellery. After many years exhibiting and selling internationally, I continue to develop my practice in Scotland, balancing artistic exploration with professional craft.
Tools & Materials
I work from my atelier, a space filled with the tools, materials, and tiny treasures that inspire my designs. At my bench I use saws, hammers, files, and soldering equipment, alongside hand-setting tools and polishing techniques. I work primarily with ethically sourced gold, diamonds, and gemstones, often incorporating customers’ own heirloom gold into bespoke pieces.
