Deborah Campbell
As a Springback Artist I will be exhibiting at The Rooks Gallery this year in Penpont. However I will be bringing lots of my tools and materials from my studio in Kilmacolm to demonstrate my work methods and process.

About My Practice
I create intricate contemporary textiles inspired by Scotland's coastal landscape & birdlife. I interpret the landscape through print, making unique handprinted fabrics using various printing techniques. Then using free motion machine embroidery as my drawing tool I combine the fabrics to create fine art textiles.
Tools & Materials
The Bernina Sewing Machine is my sturdy workhorse which I use as my drawing tool through free motion machine embroidery. I also work in a variety of printing techniques like collagraph, screen and gel printing which all need very specific tools and printing inks. So my studio is full of silk screens, squeegees, a printing press, gel plates, rollers and pots of ink.
